Globucel Solution for Infusion strengthens or boost the immune system and lower the risk of infection in persons with a weakened immune system. It works by producing antibodies against foreign substances thereby fighting against infection. It is also used to increase the blood count (platelets) in persons with a certain blood disorder (idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura-ITP). This helps stop bleeding and promote the formation of blood clots.

Common side effects of Globucel

  • Flushing (sense of warmth in the face, ears, neck and trunk)
  • Injection site reactions (pain, swelling, redness)

Immune globulin belongs to class of agents called immunostimulants. It works by restoring abnormally low immunoglobulin G levels to the normal range to fight against infectious agents.
